BookHound 8 is now compatible with Windows 11.

Installation Instructions
Step One: Back Up Your Existing BookHound Folder
- Locate your existing BookHound folder. Usually this is named BookHound 8, and is in your My Documents Folder
- Right Click on the folder, and select 'Compress to ZIP file'. This will create a .zip archive of your current BookHound.
- Save it somewhere off of your computer as a backup.
Step Two: Download BookHound
- BookHound 8 upgrades are available to existing licensed users only.
- E-mail [email protected] to request a download link.
Step 3: Unzip and Install
- Once you have downloaded the software, locate the downloaded file. This is usually in your Downloads Folder.
- Move the file BookHoundWin11.zip to your My Documents folder and unzip the file.
- This will create a new BookHound 8 Folder.
Step 4: Transfer Data File:
- From your old BookHound 8 Folder, copy the Data.fmpur file (right click, then choose Copy).
- Navigate to the newly created BookHound 8 Folder and paste the copied file (right click, then choose Paste) You should be prompted to overwrite the existing Data.fmpur file. If prompted, confirm to overwrite.
- If you are not prompted to overwrite, recheck the file path to ensure you're placing the file in the correct location.
Step 5: Launch BookHound
- Open the new BookHound 8 Folder.
- Click on the BookHound application icon to start the program.
Important: Your old shortcuts will not work with the new installation!
If you have an existing shortcut on your desktop of taskbar, you will need to delete this shortcut. You must create a new shortcut on your taskbar or desktop to access the new installation.
